You know how people go to dietitians and say, “Just give me a meal plan”?
They don’t want to talk about their history with food, their habits, their schedule, their stress levels, or their goals. They just want something printed out, handed over, and done.
And as a dietitian or clinician, you know how that ends.
They follow it for three days. Or they don’t follow it at all. Or they try really hard and end up feeling worse because it doesn’t fit their life.
Websites are the same.
I can’t tell you how many people come to me and say, “Just tell me what to do.”
Just make it pretty.
Just make it match my brand colors.
Just copy what so-and-so did.
But cookie-cutter doesn’t cut it.
Because your business isn’t a template — and your website shouldn’t be either.
A generic meal plan doesn’t work because it ignores who it’s for. The same goes for websites.
When you ask for a “simple website that works,” the real question is: works for what?
Do you want more client inquiries? Do you want better quality leads? Do you want to look more professional so colleagues feel confident referring to you? Do you want to stop manually onboarding clients and have your systems handle that for you?
Your goals matter. Your systems matter. Your schedule matters. Your preferences matter. And your values matter a lot.
Which is why every single website I build starts with a question: What does success look like to you?
If you’re curious how this works — like, what actually happens when we work together — here’s a full behind-the-scenes look at my process.
This is the exact same framework I use whether I’m building a site for a new solo dietitian or a multi-clinician group practice with 10 team members and three services.
After our initial consult, I’ll send you a proposal + agreement with options. Always custom. Always clear.
You’ll choose the option that fits best for you based on your goals, timeline, and capacity. Then you submit your deposit and we lock it in.
We’re officially a team. 🎉
This is where it gets real. Once you’re onboarded, I send you my (somewhat infamous) Client Website Workbook.
Let me warn you now: people are always surprised at how in-depth it is.
I’ve had multiple clients tell me they needed to block out a full afternoon or more (usually more) to work through it. Not because it’s hard. But because it makes you think — really think — about your practice.
This is also the phase where we collect your brand visuals (if you have them), start a Pinterest board if we’re building from scratch, and set the tone for the whole project.
Once you submit your workbook, we schedule a Kickoff Call.
Here’s a quick snippet from a real call with a recent client, Sally Sarria:
“Whatever you think I should do, I’ll do.”
That’s trust — and I don’t take it lightly. On our kickoff call, we’ll walk through your workbook responses, talk through your design preferences, and I’ll show you early sketches or color palettes based on what you’ve shared.
We’ll also dig into accessibility, usability, and content — the stuff that makes your site not just pretty, but functional for real people.
This part is always exciting — it’s where you see things come to life.
I’ll design your website using everything we’ve gathered and discussed, then send you a live link to review it in Pastel, a commenting tool that lets you click on the actual website design and leave comments in real time.
I also send an in-depth guide on exactly how to provide actionable feedback, so we can work best together.
No emailing screenshots. No trying to describe “the blue button under the third paragraph” in an email.
You just click, type your comment, and I’ll see it directly in context.
“Can we try a different photo here?”
“Make this button the pink color.”
“What if we moved this section higher up under the hero?”
Rinse and repeat. Usually we go through 1–3 rounds of edits depending on your feedback and the scope of the project.
This isn’t me designing in a vacuum and sending it to you for approval. This is us co-creating a site that works for you and your people.
Once everything’s approved, I handle the techy stuff — site launch, domain connection, analytics, redirecting old links (if you’re redesigning), and making sure everything is optimized for SEO and mobile.
Then we hit publish.
But I don’t disappear.
Because I know that after your site is live, a million questions might pop up:
That’s why I offer post-launch support AND WordPress Support Plans that include plugin updates, backups, analytics, uptime monitoring, and discounted support if you need help down the line.
Here’s what I often hear:
“I didn’t expect to be thinking this hard — but I’m so glad I did.”
“You made me feel like I wasn’t just checking off a box — you actually helped me understand how my site fits into my practice.”
“It’s so nice to send people to my site and know it reflects who I really am.”
Because that’s the goal. Not just a website. A tool that feels aligned, sustainable, and clear. Something you’re proud to send people to.
A lot of website designers talk about “beautiful sites that convert” and that’s great. But if you don’t understand what you’re converting for, it’s just fluff.
You might want more client leads. Or fewer but better ones. Or more time back in your week. Or fewer admin headaches.
Your site should be designed around those goals — with tools, content, and structure that supports you, not someone else’s checklist.
That’s why my process isn’t one-size-fits-all.
It’s also why my projects include:
You don’t have to know all the answers when we start. You just need to be open to digging into the right questions.
If you’ve ever said “just tell me what to do” about your website, I get it. You’re busy. You want it off your plate.
But if you’ve been in this field long enough, you already know: the quick fix isn’t the fix.
The good stuff takes a little digging. It takes clarity. It takes thoughtful decisions.
And if you want help getting there — I’d love to walk through it with you.
